Review: After the End by Amy Plum

This read-along was hosted by my friend Wendy over at Wall-to-Wall Books.

Though I was never on time when it came to discussions, I was glad that I participated. I was introduced to a new book that I would have never picked up on my own. It was also a lot of fun sharing my thoughts with others who were reading the book along with me. Read-alongs are great fun!

She’s searching for answers to her past. They’re hunting her to save their future.

World War III has left the world ravaged by nuclear radiation. A lucky few escaped to the Alaskan wilderness. They've survived for the last thirty years by living off the land, being one with nature, and hiding from whoever else might still be out there.

At least, this is what Juneau has been told her entire life.

Audiobook: Austenland by Shannon Hale

Read by Katherine Kellgren

Synopsis: Jane is a young New York woman who can never seem to find the right man—perhaps because of her secret obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. When a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-obsessed women, however, Jane’s fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become more real than she ever could have imagined. Is this total immersion in a fake Austenland enough to make Jane kick the Austen obsession for good, or could all her dreams actually culminate in a Mr. Darcy of her own?
